Fall Front Porch
Whether you have a full front porch or a small stoop, you can create a welcoming entrance for friends and family.
Faux Magnolia Tree | Chinoiserie Pot | Cedar Bush | Magnolia Wreath | Door Mat | Copper Ribbon | Similar Grapevine Pumpkins One & Two | Chinoiserie Garden Stools | Smaller Chinoiserie Pot
I updated our coir doormat a couple of weeks ago. The previous one was so good that I ordered it again, just in a larger size. Notice that it slightly extends the width of the door.
Here in the south, we have quite a few more warm days ahead. I'll leave the faux ferns and palm out until mid-October. I'll store them in the garage.
Grapevine Pumpkins | Exact Floral Stems
Just a pop of color for the dining area at the end of the porch. I've had the white lantern for several years now. I usually put a candle in it, but went with stems this year.
Please don't worry! I have not done away with my fabulous topiaries. They are hidden around the corner for the season. I decided to go with a different look this fall. It's a full cozy look. The chinoiserie fish bowls are a nice way to carry my love of blue and white to the entrance.
I have a pair of cedar bushes on the back screened porch and knew they'd be wonderful on the front porch as well.
The faux pumpkin with artificial mums was a recent paint project on how to make the faux pumpkin look more real.
This look around the door will even work for Christmas. I'll remove the pumpkins and mums. I'll also change out the ribbon on the wreath. Cedar and magnolia work now through the winter months.
Do you notice all the texture around the door area with the faux plants, the coir mat, the mums, and the soft velvet ribbon? While you may not be able to feel through your screen, but you can visualize all the feels.
I've added more chinoiserie on the front porch to carry the theme that sprinkles throughout our home and the back porch.
I gave up on real pumpkins years ago except for jack-o-lantern carvings. It's just too hot here and they rot too quickly on the porch.
As you enter the front door, we have an open foyer. The dining room is directly to your left and the study is on the right.
Fall Dining Room
Chandelier | Dining Set | Similar Ginger Jar | Pumpkins | Velvet Pumpkins | Spode Plates | Woven Placemats
Above you will find sources for this room. While this is our formal dining room, it has a more casual feel.
We dine in here rather frequently. I like to keep it set with just a few placemats and plates just for aesthetics. It's easy to add silverware and such if we eat here on a whim.
The bottom plate was my parents wedding china from 1963. I've added these adorable salad plates for additional color and pattern. Don't be afraid to mix and match china.
Dried hydrangeas rule in the fall! The lid of the ginger jar makes a nice riser for the pumpkin.
Fall Study
Let's just get it out in the open…..this room never looks this put together.
This is my husband's working office. We both work from home. It's always covered in paper. Once per year at Christmas, we do a big clean so I can share it. This year, I worked it out to share for this fall tour.
Garden Stool | Ginger Jars | Magnolia Stems | Green Velvet Ribbon | Desk Lamp | Bar Cart | Blanton's Bourbon Top Holder | Pharmacy Floor Lamp | Library Sconces
Above you will find a few sources for this room.
I added faux magnolia stems to the ginger jars to carry the theme from the front porch.
This room has evolved through collecting through the years.
The rug is an antique that we purchased 20 years ago.
Ever heard of Craigslist? The wingback chairs were canary yellow and purchased for $50 each from a ritzy neighborhood in Greenville, SC. We reupholstered them when we moved in 20 years ago. Classic just does not age.
When we built this house, we knew we wanted a paneled pine wood room. I love the Ralph Lauren vibe. It's easily one of our favorite rooms. It has never seen a makeover in the 20 years we have lived here. It just works and never feels dated to us.
This room feels like an autumn, warm hug.
By thoughtfully incorporating the rich colors, cozy textures, and familiar sounds of fall, you can turn your home into a sanctuary that reflects the season’s beauty and warmth. Whether it's the subtle crackle of a fire, the softness of a knitted blanket, or the vibrant hues of autumn leaves, these elements combine to create an atmosphere that invites relaxation and reflection. As you prepare your space, remember that fall is about embracing the small moments and savoring the simple comforts that make this time of year so special.

What a treat to see that beautiful study. I love the warm paneling and the hunting scene tiles. Your home always feels so inviting! Thank you for the lovely tour! Happy Fall Christy!
Christy, your porch is always so pretty! I hear you with the heat and pumpkins. I did pick up a few creamy pumpkins but I have to keep them way back on our front porch stoop, away from the sprinklers which want to rot them, lol! 😉 I like the changes you made to the porch.
And oh my! I LOVE your husband’s office!!! My daughter and I love bookshelves and we always talk about the future libraries we’d love to have (hence why we have those three bookcases cut at the edges and shoved together). I need to weed some books and magazines, but I love the bookcases overall. 😉 Love how you’ve decorated the mantel, too! I’ve been pinning a bunch of photos from everyone’s home tours. Fun decor! Love the Ralph Lauren hunt look…
Happy fall to you and your family,
Barb 🙂
Christy, your husband’s office is so traditional and timeless. Love the hunt print. I was enamored with that theme back in the 90’s and still have several pieces that I love and use. Your dining room armoire is one of my all time blog land favorites.
I adore your timeless style Christy. All my senses were filled by look at your beautiful photos. I laughed out loud when you said your husbands office never looks that put together. Girl, you should see the Mister’s office. It will NEVER be in photos. It looks like a bomb went off in there. Glad you could join us. Cheers to cooler weather coming soon! pinned
Everything looks so beautiful, Christy! I love the blue and white pieces and the faux magnolias on the porch are gorgeous. Happy fall! ~ Angie
